Free Wi-Fi service will be powered by equipment attached to lamp-posts and other existing structures on London`s streets, and should be completed by March. Experts said the service would be very popular, particularly for overseas tourists worried about expensive mobile costs, but they also add that it is necessary to provide Wi-Fi constantly during Olympics. The positive aspect of the project is that the organization of wireless access doesn’t require financial cost by the government or the taxpayers. In its turn, the operator O2 doesn’t considered project as commercially, and first of all tries to sustain its branding. At the same time several costs will be offset by advertising.
