Google Inc. launched a new service for remote storage of data - Google Drive on April 24. Users will be able to place up to 16 terabytes of information on corporation’s servers. Five GB of space on the Google Drive are assigned free of charge, 25 GB will cost $2.49 per month, 100 GB - $4.99 per month, 1 TB - $49.99, and 16TB - $799. The new service enables user to store photos, video files and other documents on remote server. Files can be used through computers and mobile devices. The service works on both Apple computers and devices running Windows operating system. Moreover, it can be installed on tablet PCs and phones running under Android operating system. Google promises to release the appropriate application for iOS in the near future. With the help of “Search” function the user will be able to find a document with desired content among his files. Google Drive will compete with rival cloud services such as Dropbox and Microsoft Corp. which provide similar services.
