Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) has announced that it is not going to use processors with x86 architecture in its first tablet computers running Windows 8 operating system. It is reported that HP has no plans to release tablets on ARM-based chips running Windows RT. Instead, the company is preparing a device with x86-compatible processors based on Windows 8 Professional. Such computers will be designed first of all for business users. According to preliminary data, HP will introduce Windows tablet Slate 8 by the end of the year. It is supposed that the device will receive a 10.1-inch touch-screen display, which can be used with fingers and a special pen. The Battery life of the device ranges from 8 to 10 hours. The thickness of the body is 9.2 mm, weight - 680 gram. According to IDC, in the first quarter of current year the world was delivered roughly 17.4 million tablets in various hardware and software platforms. This is a 120% more over the same period in 2011, when sales were equal to 7.9 million units.
