Mozilla, the developer of the browser Firefox, and Samsung announced that they are developing next generation browser engine, called Servo. The main goal of the project is to create an engine that would take advantage of faster, multi-core, heterogeneous computing architectures and in parallel with computing systems, at the same time taking into account security issues. The engine will be built from scratch. It is written in new programming language Rust, which was developed by Mozilla and is still under development. Servo is primarily designed for devices with processors ARM, running operating system Android and such devices are produced by Samsung. In January 2013, the company announced 8-core processor architecture ARM.
