Google has placed its servers in the Data Center of Delta Telecom – the backbone Internet provider in Azerbaijan. The equipment is reportedly being tested, which is scheduled to be completed next week. Setting up Google’s servers within Azerbaijan will remove the need to pay for the traffic flow through the transit countries and reduce the cost of the provider services. In addition, it will improve the quality of searching addresses in the .Az domain. The availability of the appropriate infrastructure at Delta Telecom became an important reason for Google’s decision to choose Azerbaijan’s Internet segment. Delta Telecom is the leading backbone operator in the Caucasus. The company since 2000 has been successfully employed in telecommunications and information technologies. Delta Telecom owns the largest Internet Backbone network in the region. The backbone network platform based on modern technologies offers professional IP Backbone services to 78% of the Internet service providers in the South Caucasus.
