Sony Electronics has officially announced the price of its 55-inch and 65-inch 4K (Ultra HD) TVs presented at CES 2013 in January. 55-inch XBR-55X900A model will be available for $5,000 and 65-inch XBR-65X900A - for $7000. The company has already started taking pre-orders for both models over the Internet in the U.S. The TVs will be available at retail on April 21. Sony believes that the more affordable models 55X900A 65X900A with panels 55 and 65 inches will allow the users to get closely acquainted with the format of 4K. Both models come with 3840 x 2160 of resolution, which is four times more in comparison with Full HD format (1920 x 1080 pixels). The TVs are equipped with technology X Reality Pro Picture Engine and using two processors, it converts the lower resolution video up to 3840 x 2160 pixels and supports Wi-Fi.
